Prof. Alex Joseph

Dr. Alex Joseph, an esteemed Professor of Epidemiology at the SRM School of Public Health, nestled within the vibrant SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Beginning his journey in 2012 as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Joseph has ascended the ranks with his unwavering commitment and profound expertise.  Dr. Joseph has ascended to the forefront of his field, becoming a guiding light for students and fellow researchers alike. His journey also weaves through the SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital as an Adjunct Faculty of Public Health Dentistry, where he continues to expand the boundaries of research within the SRM community.

His roots trace back to the rural unit of Community Medicine, RUHSA, at Christian Medical College, Vellore, where he served as an Associate Research Officer, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors. With a PhD in Epidemiology from SRM Deemed University and a master's degree from the esteemed Christian Medical College, Vellore, Dr. Joseph brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his domain. A doctor by training from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, his passion for epidemiology is matched only by his commitment to applying innovative solutions for sustainable public health advancements.

Dr. Joseph's research endeavors are driven by a deep-seated belief in the power of community-based approaches, insisting on the fundamental right of communities to partake in decisions that shape their health and future. His work spans across critical areas such as injury epidemiology, gerontology, maternal and child health, health system research, alternative medicine, and mobile health interventions. Esteemed in both national and international circles, his contributions have graced numerous reputable journals and have been recognized with honors and awards by distinguished agencies worldwide.
